Cutscene of Kureha welcoming the Protagonist to Gun Gale Online

Upon spawning in Gun Gale Online (GGO) for the start fourth dimension, the Protagonist was amazed by SBC Glocken and its residents. Moments later on, they were greeted by a daughter in a pink outfit, who apologized for being late due to the tournament registration taking longer than she had expected. Equally she looked dissimilar from her real life persona and had a unlike proper name, the daughter introduced herself as Kureha, the Protagonist's childhood friend. After introducing them to GGO and explaining the basics, Kureha led the manner to the tournament expanse, where both of them were to participate together as a squad.

On their way to the tournament, the Protagonist and Kureha met Itsuki, one of the top players in GGO, whom they later on crossed paths with inside the tournament map. Highlighting his unluckiness, Itsuki did not wish to face the boss in the next room and thus made a deal with them. As part of the bargain, the Protagonist and Kureha defeated the dominate, while Itsuki refrained from attacking them, also as allowed them to exist the first to choose their path at the next crossroad.

After parting with Itsuki, Kureha reminded the Protagonist of the demand to be vigilant, since not everyone would be as nice as Itsuki. Just as Kureha highlighted that the rare item was their goal, the two stumbled upon a dormant teleporter. As the Protagonist waited in the middle of the room, Kureha jumped up to the panel and accidentally teleported the Protagonist to another room while attempting to deduce how the controls worked.

While exploring the new room, the Protagonist found a foreign capsule. Upon touching information technology, they were informed by the game'southward arrangement that the Master Registration procedure had been completed. At that moment, the capsule rose upright and its hat slid open, revealing an Artificial Financial Adviser System Unit, or Afasys (ArFA-Sys in the Western localization) for short. As the Protagonist watched in awe, the Afasys Unit soared up, earlier promptly beginning to fall. At that instant, a weapon targeting the Protagonist missed its marker due to the Protagonist rushing to the Afasys Unit.

Kirito Mode [ ]

Intrigued by the Ultimate Fibers Gun (UFG) device in the Protagonist'due south possession, Kirito decided to accept a chat with them regarding the weapon. Post-obit a discussion on the advantages of the UFG in Player versus Actor gainsay, the Protagonist remarked that the UFG might testify to exist helpful even against the likes of Death Gun, a role player who had been earning infamy in and outside of the game with his alleged murders in real life by killing players in GGO. As Kirito was concerned near the possibility of encountering this mysterious human, the Protagonist offered to lend his UFG to the swordsman during the Protagonist'due south offline hours to be better prepared for battle with him.

Some time later at his habitation, Kirito spoke to Asuna and Yui about his decision to investigate the Expiry Gun incident. Although Asuna offered her help in the upcoming battle, Kirito declined the offer. He was concerned that members of their group could become possible targets, which was why Kikuoka Seijirou had prepared a new account for him to ensure his safety.

After parting with Asuna and Yui, Kirito switched from his personal account to the one created by Seijirou to use against Death Gun in the upcoming Bullet of Bullets (BoB) tournament. Upon spawning in Governor'due south Antechamber equally Kiriko, Kirito realized how feminine his new avatar looked, which resulted in attracting 2 other male players. Moments later, Sinon noticed the scene and decided to intervene, believing that Kiriko was a female player who was being harassed. As Kiriko discovered that Sinon was also registering for the BoB tournament, he decided to keep his identity a secret for the time being.

Afterwards a brief dialogue with Sinon'due south friend Spiegel and notwithstanding unaware that Kiriko was Kirito, Sinon guided him into the female dressing room, where she began changing her outfit. Due to the awkwardness of the situation, Kirito decided to reveal his identity to her, explaining that he was using a different avatar in order to face up Decease Gun. Equally Sinon was insistent on not resigning from BoB despite the potential dangers, they decided to form a team to have a ameliorate run a risk confronting Decease Gun. On the topic of potential threats towards Sinon, Kirito mentioned that he institute Spiegel's earlier actions to be very suspicious, comparing them to his conduct dorsum in Sword Art: Origin'due south Ainground, where they had first met him every bit Richter. Sinon, however, dismissed Kirito'due south concerns by attributing Spiegel'southward beliefs to his frustration over his graphic symbol build in GGO, before ending the chat every bit the preliminary rounds of the BoB were about to start.

Later on achieving victory in his get-go qualification round, Kiriko was confronted by a guy dressed in a ragged cloak in the lobby while he was waiting for Sinon's results. Having recognized the sword technique Kirito had used in the first preliminary circular, the man referred to Kirito by his actual in-game proper name, rather than his current Kiriko avatar proper noun. Due to the man'south knowledge of his sword techniques, Kirito became certain he knew this person from either Sword Art: Origin (SA:O) or ALfheim Online (ALO), the sword-based games he had played before. However, upon witnessing the man'due south Laughing Coffin tattoo, Kirito realized that the player was actually 1 of the Player Killers (PKers) from Sword Fine art Online.

Having finished her get-go friction match moments subsequently, Sinon found Kirito in the lobby, looking very pale and unfocused. Upon returning to his senses, Kirito informed Sinon about his run into with Death Gun, explaining the atrocities Laughing Coffin had committed in Sword Fine art Online before Sinon appeared in Aincrad on Floor 76. Kirito also shared his regret at not even remembering the names and the faces of the people he had killed during the attack on Laughing Coffin, that the Clearers had organized to cease the activities of the PK Gild.. In the aftermath of the second and last preliminaries match, Kirito realized that the vox of the player with the ragged cloak matched that of the sound recording of Death Gun that Kikuoka Seijirou had provided him with. Recalling that he had crossed swords with the man before, Kirito deduced that Death Gun was a high ranking Laughing Coffin member, yet he was notwithstanding unable to recall his name.

Following his conversation with Sinon, Kirito was transported to the heart of a desert on the Solitary Sands map for the main Bullet of Bullets tournament. Bold that he would not be targeted immediately, Kirito carefully started heading to the center of the map in hopes of finding Sinon. Meanwhile, having spawned in a different area, Sinon decided to avoid conflict until she was able to regroup with Kirito. However, upon encountering two other players dueling each other in the altitude, Sinon noticed that ane of them was wearing a ragged cloak, immediately realizing that he was Death Gun. Although she considered budgeted the two players to inspect Decease Gun's avatar name, the daughter realized that the other player, Stake Passenger, was in problem and decided to impale him get-go. This action saved Pale Passenger's life by not allowing him to die against Decease Gun, yet information technology also revealed Sinon'southward position, prompting her to relocate to avoid being targeted past the cloaked man.

Meanwhile, Kirito'southward friends non participating in the tournament were watching the tournament in his room, immediately recognizing Kiriko as Kirito based on his swordsmanship. Just as Yuuki attempted to have a screenshot of Kiriko, the feed changed to a different photographic camera, displaying Sinon. While about expressed surprise at Sinon having joined the Bullet of Bullets, Agil all of a sudden requested to rewind the feed, bringing the Laughing Bury logo of Expiry Gun to their attention. Upon noticing the logo, Asuna left the room to contact Seijirou in the real world and warn him that Death Gun was a member of Laughing Coffin.

Back in Gun Gale Online, Kirito reached the center of the map. Bold that Sinon was already in a good sniping position, he headed straight to the most favorable location he could notice, only to detect Sinon struggling against Death Gun. Upon Death Gun's question regarding the similarity of his name and fighting style to the Black Swordsman of SAO, Kirito revealed that he was using a 2d account under the name Kiriko, while he read the proper noun of Decease Gun as "Steven". Growing more than confident that Kirito did not remember his name, Expiry Gun planned claiming him to a duel. Notwithstanding, due to a sudden increase of players fighting right below the platform they were on, the cloaked human deemed the location unsuitable to dispense his judgement and thus decided to retreat, leaving Kirito to bargain with other players approaching their location.

Subsequently the fight, Kirito and Sinon took shelter in a cave, where the girl explained how powerless she felt when she froze confronting Death Gun and the firearm he was using. She shared her memories of when she had killed a robber with a gun identical to Expiry Gun's firearm, revealing that the upshot had left her traumatized. Although Sinon desired to overcome her trauma and fight confronting Expiry Gun, Kirito attempted to dissuade her by emphasising that it would exist too unsafe. In response, Sinon reminded him that her existent body was safe at her abode, prompting Kirito to call up virtually how Death Gun might have been killing people in GGO.

Kirito's deliberations led to him reasoning that Expiry Gun must have had an accomplice in real earth to perform the killings at the homes of his victims when he pulled his trigger in GGO. Upon hearing his theory, Sinon remembered that players were able to enter their real life data, including their addresses, on the registration form for the Bullet of Bullets, in case they desired real world prizes for their achievements. Equally the realization that she had entered her own personal information on the registration class for this very reason resulted in Sinon panicking, Kirito attempted to alleviate her concerns past reminding her that Decease Gun had to shoot the victim with his handgun before the real life cohort could take activeness. Advising Sinon to avoid against Death Gun to remain condom, the boy departed from the cave to lure Expiry Gun to an open location.

When Kirito confronted Decease Gun on the field, the boy revealed his discovery of the hugger-mugger behind Death Gun'southward murders; however, the homo remained unperturbed, as Kirito could not stop them without knowing his name. Drawing a handcrafted estoc-like weapon to Kirito'south surprise, Death Gun reminded his adversary of their confrontation in Aincrad, during which Death Gun had shared his proper noun yet Kirito purposefully ignored it. As their fight continued, Death Gun reminded Kirito of their promise, prompting the latter to recall his confrontation with a mysterious person who had been temporarily making use of Richter's account in Sword Art: Origin. This led to Kirito remembering a pre-assault coming together, during which Asuna had mentioned an estoc user from Laughing Bury.

While staring into the carmine optics on Decease Gun'southward mask equally their swords were locked, Kirito remembered that the name of the estoc-wielding thespian was Red-Eyed XaXa. Kirito's abrupt mention of this proper noun made Death Gun lose his residual, forcing him to have a stride backwards. As both parties stared at each other while continuing all the same, Sinon all of a sudden aimed her sniper at Death Gun, generating a Bullet Line that prompted Death Gun to dodge backwards by reflex. As the man attempted to use his camouflage cloak to retreat, Kirito rushed forward and shot at his antagonist to prevent him from cloaking. Earlier the man could regain his rest, Kirito slashed Decease Gun and his handgun in half with a single slash. In his final moments, Death Gun warned Kirito that he was not acting alone, before his avatar shattered into polygons.

Moments later, when Sinon came to Kirito and shared her worries that Expiry Gun's accomplice may be standing correct side by side to her at her home that very moment, Kirito promised to visit her home subsequently they logged out to ensure her safety. To bring the tournament to an stop, Sinon used a grenade to crusade a double suicide, resulting in both of them being crowned as winners. Having logged out several minutes later, Asada Shino awoke in her bed and started checking her home to ensure she was safety. At that point, she was visited by Shinkawa Kyouji, who began questioning Shino on her feelings towards him and Kirito. Incited by his jealousy, Kyouji attempted to inject Shino with a syringe; nonetheless, his programme was interrupted by Kazuto's inflow to the scene with police sirens approaching the area.

In the aftermath of the incident, anybody visited Kirito'due south room in Gun Gale Online to congratulate him and Sinon on winning the Bullet of Bullets tournament. There, Kirito informed the others on how Decease Gun had operated: Shinkawa Kyouji (Spiegel, Richter) and his older brother Shinkawa Shouichi (XaXa) had been using an account named Sterben, rather than Steven, to secretly observe people with the invisibility ability of their cloak as they entered their personal information on their registration class for the tournament. This allowed them to locate the people to perform their murders in real life, simultaneous to the killing accident they dealt inside Gun Gale Online to give the illusion that Death Gun was killing players in real life from inside the game.

Kirito had also learnt from Seijirou that the Shinkawa brothers had denied having stolen any NerveGears, pregnant that they were unrelated to the contempo cases of theft of such devices.
